Clenbuterol, a beta-agonist, it can be used in livestock in order to promote growth and improve the meat-fat-ratio. Yet, the use of Clenbuterol has consequences: drug residues remain in meat and milk from treated animals.
The use of clenbuterol has been banned in meat since 1991 in the US and since 1996 in the European Union. The drug is banned due to health concerns about symptoms noted in consumers. These include increased heart rate, muscular tremors, headaches, nausea, fever, and chills.
Clenbuterol ELISA Kit is an indirect competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. The Clenbuterol antigen is precoated on the wells. The precoated antigen compete the Clenbuterol antibody (Antibody Solution) with Clenbuterol in the sample, Clenbuterol antibody binds to the Clenbuterol Enzyme Conjugate. After the color development of TMB Substrate, the absorbance value of the sample is negatively correlated with the Clenbuterol contained in it. Compared with the standard curve and multiplied by its corresponding dilution factor, the content of Clenbuterol in the sample can be calculated.
