Background:
Nitrofurans, which are effective against a wide range of bacteria, include furazolidone, nitrofurazone, nitrofurantoin and related compounds. The food and drug administration has prohibited all uses of nitrofuran drugs in food-producing animals because they pose a public health risk. Evidence indicates that the drugs may induce carcinogenic residues in animal tissues.
Use Principles:
Furacilin Metabolite (SEM) ELISA Test Kit is an indirect competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. The SEM antigen is precoated on the wells. The precoated antigen compete the SEM antibody (antibody solution) with SEM in the sample, anti-SEM antibody binds to the SEM-HRP enzyme conjugate. Then pipet the substrate solutions to the wells to convert the color.
The color of unknown samples is compared to the color of the standards and the SEM concentration of the samples is derived.
