Procedure Overview

The method is based on a competitive, one step colorimetric enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The analyte-specific antibody has been coated to the plate wells. During analysis, sample is added along with the analyte-conjugated horseradish peroxidase (HRP). If the target analyte is present in the sample, it will compete for the antibody, thereby preventing the conjugated HRP from binding to the antibody coated to the plate well. The resulting color intensity, after addition of the TMB substrate, has an inverse relationship to the target analyte concentration in the sample.

Flumequine is an antibiotic in the group of fluoroquinolones, which can inhibit the activity of bacterial DNA gyrase. Flumequine is a first generation broad spectrum antibiotic often used in veterinarian medicine for the treatment of enteric infections in domestic animals, poultry and fish. Because of concerns about drug residues entering the food chain and contributing to bacterial resistance, flumequine has been detected in the food products. Flumequine ELISA Kit has the capacity for 96 determinations or testing of 42 samples in duplicate (assuming 12 wells for standards). Return any unused microwells to the foil bag and reseal them with the desiccant provided in the original package. Store the entire kit at 2–8°C. Do not use this product past the expiration date indicated on the Certificate of Analysis.
