Deoxynivalenol is a group of toxins found in contaminated crops due to fungal infection by certain strains of Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum. Health problems result from consumption of deoxynivalenol-contaminated food or feed, including gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, vomiting, immune suppression, and reduced appetite. The kit's detection range for deoxynivalenol is 0–30 ppm, with a dilution procedure for samples greater than 6 ppm.
