Background:
Nitrofurans, which are effective against a wide range of bacteria, include furazolidone, nitrofurazone, nitrofurantoin and related compounds. The food and drug administration has prohibited all uses of nitrofuran drugs in food-producing animals because they pose a public health risk. Evidence indicates that the drugs may induce carcinogenic residues in animal tissues.
Use Principles:
Furantoin (AHD) ELISA Kit is an indirect competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. The AHD antigen is precoated on the wells. The precoated antigen compete the AHD antibody (antibody solution) with AHD in the sample, anti-AHD antibody binds to the AHD-HRP enzyme conjugate. Then pipette the substrate solutions to the wells to convert the color.
The color of unknown samples is compared to the color of the standards and the AHD concentration of the samples is derived.
