Background:
Nitrofurans, which are effective against a wide range of bacteria, include furazolidone, nitrofurazone, nitrofurantoin and related compounds. The food and drug administration has prohibited all uses of nitrofuran drugs in food-producing animals because they pose a public health risk. Evidence indicates that the drugs may induce carcinogenic residues in animal tissues.
Use Principles:
Furazolidone Metabolite (AOZ) ELISA Kit is an indirect competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. The AOZ antigen is precoated on the wells. The precoated antigen compete the AOZ antibody (antibody solution) with AOZ in the sample, anti-AOZ antibody binds to the AOZ-HRP enzyme conjugate. Then pipet the substrate solutions to the wells to convert the color.
The color of unknown samples is compared to the color of the standards and the AOZ concentration of the samples is derived.
